Scrap Tire Recycling

What We Do with the Tires We Collect

Once our trucks loaded with scrap tires arrive at our processing facility then the tires are unloaded.

Unloaded tires are separated into different categories:

Tires without rims and tires small enough to be shredded whole are fed directly into a 3″ primary shredder with a hydraulic excavator.

Tires with rims are placed in a pile to have the rims removed with an excavator-mounted shear. The de-rimmed tires are fed directly into a 3″ primary shredder with a hydraulic excavator. Steel and aluminum rims are recycled as scrap metal.

3″ primary shreds are ground smaller until the wire and rubber are separated into clean and wire-free rubber. The tire wire is then briquetted and sold as scrap steel. The wire-free rubber is screened to make different-sized products.
