ARM – Madeira Water and Waste

ARM – Águas e Residuos da Madeira, SA (ARM), is a company with exclusively public capital whose purpose is the exploration and management of the multi-municipal water and waste system of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (RAM), under a public service and exclusivity.

The RAM multi-municipal water and waste system was created by Regional Legislative Decree no. 17/2014/M, of December 16, amended and republished by Regional Legislative Decree no. 10/2019/M, of August 13 , object of Rectification Declaration no. 44/2019, of September 23 ( consolidated version ).

ARM carries out its activities in the water (including irrigation water, water for public supply and wastewater) and waste sectors, both up and down, in RAM (depending on the sector).

ARM, as a regional public company, is part of the RAM business sector and is governed by the strategic guidelines for regional public companies – Resolution No. 75/2022.

To be recognized for the efficient management of water and waste in the Autonomous Region of Madeira and to be a reference for best practices, from a sustainable development perspective.

Mission

Manage the multi-municipal water and waste system of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, acting in an integrated manner in its various aspects, in accordance with the concession contract and applicable legislation, within a framework of environmental, economic and social sustainability, contributing to the improvement of quality of life of the populations and the development of the Region.
