PJ Greco & Sons, Inc.

1454 Freeport Road , Tarentum, Pennsylvania, United States | Scrap Metal Recycling

General Info

P. J. Greco was founded in 1911 by Pasquale Greco, an Italian immigrant striving to provide a future in America for his wife and ten children. Initially he purchased everything from rags, tires, cars and old iron. He played a key role in scrap drives during the war years, and was honored for his endeavors. In later years, he focused on the purchase and sale of iron, structural steel and welding supplies. Upon his death in 1949, the business continued to flourish under the management of his six sons. In 1984, the business was split to form Greco Gas, Greco Steel, and P. J. Greco Sons, Inc.

 P. J. Greco Sons, Inc. is owned and operated by John Greco, Jr. and Robert Greco, Jr., at its original location. Conveniently located at 1454 Freeport Road, Tarentum in East Deer Township, it provides area mills with sorted, sheared and bundled scrap iron and metal for use in the production of various ferrous and non-ferrous products.

In March of 1997, John Greco, Jr. and Robert Greco, Jr. acquired the former M.N. Adelson & PJ Greco Sons Inc. scrap yard in Kittanning, PA. Our thirty employees are engaged in the various activities associated with the production of thousands of tons of scrap yearly.
