Who We Are

TBG Contracting Ltd. (TBG), a division of Lafarge Canada Inc., is a prominent aggregate supplier and service producer in Alberta. For over 60 years, TBG has been providing quality aggregates and related services in Alberta, including over 52 years of operations in Fort McMurray/Wood Buffalo region. We maintain our reputation as one of the industry leaders by continuously providing innovative solutions to meet customer needs.

Our History

1956

TBG commenced the aggregate business with head office in Edmonton.

1965

Started activity in the Fort McMurray/Wood Buffalo Region when we started crushing and screening operations for the Great Canadian Oil Sands on the current Suncor site.

1973-1978

TBG was the aggregate supplier of choice for Syncrude and the AllSands project on Shell’s current lease-13 site.

1978-1996

TBG remained active in the Fort McMurray region and worked on a contract basis, delivering construction and maintenance materials and services to municipalities and corporations’ plant sites, including but not limited to road gravel, filter materials for tailing ponds and coke crushing services.

In addition to aggregate supply, TBG provided equipment and personnel to support the development of the current hydro-transport technology.

TBG established a permanent office in Fort McMurray in 1996, demonstrating our long-term commitment to the Oil Sands group and the Wood buffalo region.

2000

TBG head office and base of operations was moved to Fort McMurray.
