Levimet B.V.

History since 1994:

Prior to becoming self-employed, I worked for a company founded by my father, brother and me (Visser Recycling Techniek BV). After that he worked at Metallo Chimique International NV and at Van Balkom Non-Ferro Scheiding BV.

At the end of 1994 I took the initiative to start Levimet vof, my first step was to try to survive in a very competitive market, for this I continued with the business relationships I have done business with in the past. By buying and selling from this again on a commission basis.

In May 1995 I also started as a consultant/buyer for the “Robinson Group LTD” in Newcastle upon Tyne, which company is now part of EMR.

Specialized

Over the years I specialized in shredded non-ferrous residues, suitable for a Heavy Media plant and therefore started to buy these products for the 'Robinson Group' because this company had such a plant . In the same time, however, I never stopped my trading activities that guaranteed me my self-employed and independent status. In May 1998 I was presented with a very challenging opportunity to assist in the management of Huron Valley Europe NV (60% owned by Huron Valley Steel Corporation). At a later stage, after the departure of the then commercial director, I was asked to lead the commercial department.

Collaborate

From 2003 I started working closely with Malco France, which changed its name to GDE NF in March 2006, to assist them in selling their shredded products to the Far East for hand sorting. In addition to this activity, I continued with several other partners not only in a commercial sense, but also in consulting in cases of waste border crossings (EVOA) where in some cases notification procedures also had to be initiated and solutions had to be worked out with the authorities.

After buying material on a more extensive scale within Europe and selling to the Far East in 2005, my company has experienced growth in which I became less dependent on a single client.

In June 2007 I therefore decided to transfer my company, still operating under the legal form of a VOF, to 2 operating companies that I set up, and to add a third operating company in 2010;

Levimet BV, in which all contact activities between selling and requesting parties are maintained in a discreet and unique manner.

Levimet Export BV, in which all trade transactions are carried out and where service and fast payment are of paramount importance.

Levimet Trading BV, in which we concentrate trade within the European Union. From then on we concentrated Export outside the European Union in Levimet Export BV

Current activities

Activities from 2010 to the present are unchanged and we are still active in the Asian market, although we see shifts in material flows to various other areas outside China.
