MPT Transport

MPT Transport is a third generation family business from Savonlinna, whose roots go back to 1963.

The company, which was formed from a one-person company, currently employs ten permanent employees who work in different positions. The company's services vary from transportation to waste collection and processing. You can find more services on the services page.

The company's operating area varies depending on the services. Jätehuolto's operating area is the Savonlinna economic area, but e.g. transports cover the whole of Finland and, if necessary, also foreign countries.

The starting point of our company's environmental policy is that our operations create as little environmental impact as possible. We monitor the condition of our fleet and maintain the cars regularly. We monitor emissions using an operational system. We comply with valid environmental laws and regulations. We are constantly developing our operations so that our emissions and use of raw materials would be even lower in the future.

History

MPT Transport was actually founded in 1994, but its roots go back to 1963, when the father of the company's founder, Pertti Pakarinen, Eino Pakarinen started his career as a car driver. In 1978, the company's founder Pertti Pakarinen started his career as a car driver following his father's tire tracks. After more than ten years, i.e. in 1989, he founded his own company, which operated under the name MPT Pakarinen Ky. In that case, sons Mikko and Tommi Pakarinen also joined and another truck was put into use. In this case, the company's activities were also expanded to the collection and processing of scrap.

 Then in 1994, the company was merged into MPT Kuljetus Oy, which expanded the company's operations again. In this case, the collection and processing of paper and cardboard came into play, as well as waste management as a whole, which includes mixed, bio and energy waste (= combustible waste). After these, small metal collection and the collection of specified plastic materials such as packaging plastics were also included. Equipment has been added to the company as needed over the years. With MPT Transport, more demanding transports have also been included, such as various special transports, such as extra-wide or extra-high transports. Currently, the main shareholders of the company are Mikko and Tommi Pakarinen.
