Ytekki Oy

Niemenkatu 73, Lahti, Päijänne Tavastia, Finland | Waste Management

Ytekki Oy was founded in 2007 and restarted its operations at the end of 2016.

The goal is to influence the change of society's direction from a flow-through economy to a circular economy, where resources and materials are used efficiently and natural resources are saved through material efficiency and high-level utilization of waste and by-product materials.

The utilization of waste materials is still associated with a lot of fear and uncertainty about their safety and suitability as raw materials to replace natural materials, such as aggregates in construction. Often this is caused solely by the waste status, which has a negative echo in the ears of consumers. In reality, however, the classification as waste is directly based on the Waste Act, the purpose of which is that materials that have been wasted in production processes or that have been discarded should be treated appropriately and recycled or utilized as well as possible. For this reason, a large part of these waste materials can be completely harmless from the point of view of the environment or human health, and therefore their utilization as recycled raw materials is essential for the sustainability of society and the ecosystem
