Van Delden Wastewater Systems

1st Generation

Frank J. Van Delden began installing septic systems in 1937. He continued building the business until his death in 1955. The business consisted of septic system installation, which at that time required blasting rock for systems to be installed. You can visit our office to see some of the blasting boxes that were used before machines and more advanced treatment systems. The office location was on Nogalitos Street in San Antonio, where a large red metal “V” stood as the company sign, which is where our logo originated from. Continuing the tradition, a new “V” sign was constructed at the current location in 2020.

2nd Generation

Frank’s son, Gary Van Delden, took over the business operations and maintained successful growth for the company until he retired in 1989. During this time, Texas began septic system regulations which improved septic systems and standards. Gary built new offices off of Rochelle Street which is now the location of Leon Vista Trailhead in San Antonio.

3rd Generation

Gary’s son, Garrett Van Delden, began working in the business in high school. Garrett’s wife, Pam, joined in 1981. The pair continued to grow the business to include septic tank cleaning, inspections, aerobic system installation and aerobic system maintenance. In 1992, Van Delden Wastewater Systems became the first company in Bexar County to install an aerobic system with spray distribution. They built our current location right off IH-10 in Boerne in 1998. Pam was the 2015 recipient of the NAWT Excellence in Service Award, and the two established an excellent reputation for the business that continues today.

4th Generation

Courtney & Chad Van Delden spent a lot of time at the old shop while growing up, both while young and while doing summer work in their high-school years. During that time they learned the value “doing things right or not doing them at all”, which is a core value they carry into their leadership.

Courtney joined the company full time in 2003 as office administration and inspector. She currently oversees the pumping division, aerobic division, and office administration.

Chad joined the company full time in 2007. Chad is the estimator for major repairs and system installations. He also runs the repairs and installation crews and oversees the company fleet of vehicles and machines.

Courtney and Chad run the daily operations and continue excellent reputation set by previous generations. Quality and service are their top priority, resulting in the most highly trained technicians and state-of-the-art systems for efficiency and customer communication.

Continuing the family tradition of the big red “V”, a new sign was constructed the current location of IH-10 which can be seen from quite a distance.
