Restorers and builders of vintage rides are welcome to take a walk and view all the possibilities.

John Blacketer, owner, started John’s Salvage Co. in 1975 with a 1949 Mercury and a plot of land. When he first opened, the business was filled with mechanic work, welding, road side services, scrapping metal, and selling of parts. He worked out of a shell of a building weathering the Texas weather year round.

Now, he maintains a 6,000-sq-ft work shop. He doesn't do road side services anymore and closes on Sundays. Cows used to roam the yard helping to maintain the grass, but now cats  roam the yard. Kittens are usually available for free.

John’s Salvage is located east of San Antonio, Texas on State Highway 123.

From I-10, exit South on State Highway 123 and drive approximately 8 miles, then take left (East) onto Fox Trotter Road. Drive approximately 2 miles to John’s on the left side of the road.
