Porto Ambiente

Established in 2017, by delegation of the municipality of Porto, Porto Ambiente is the Municipal Environmental Company of Porto, EM, SA, responsible for the management of urban waste and cleaning of public space.

Porto Ambiente operates in the municipality of Porto, promoting environmental and economic sustainability and the quality of life of all those who reside, visit, work or study in the city of Porto. 

Thus, with regard to urban waste management, Porto Ambiente provides proximity containerization, recycling bins and containers, strategically distributed throughout the municipality of Porto, in order to make the separation of waste easier and more comfortable for everyone.

As part of its activity, Porto Ambiente collects from the various waste disposal points in the city, as well as custom door-to-door service collections for commercial establishments and certain single-family housing areas.

Public space cleaning involves a set of manual and mechanical actions that have as their primary objective the maintenance and continuous improvement of the city's cleaning and sanitation levels.

Porto Ambiente also has a social responsibility to actively participate in raising everyone's awareness of environmental issues, for the prevention and reduction of waste production and the correct separation of waste.
