Turkey, which is a candidate country for European Union membership, has entered a harmonization process in which the Union legislation (including environmental legislation) will be reflected in Turkish laws and fully implemented. Reducing waste at its source, recycling and final disposal have become issues of great importance. Depending on these developments, Atkasan A.Ş. has adopted the idea that wastes other than paper should be collected and recycled to the economy and expanded its activities in this direction. An average of 180,000 tons of paper/cardboard waste per year is collected by our group company Selkasan A.Ş. is recycled by Selkasan A.Ş. The finished papers produced by Kaplamin A.Ş., which is also our group company. It is recycled by turning it into boxes.

With the Granule and Wooden Pallet Recycling facilities investment completed in 2018, recycling processes of plastic waste and wooden pallets are carried out. Other wastes are sent to licensed recycling companies and recycled to the economy.

Developing new branches of activity for the recycling of packaging wastes as well as for an integrated waste management, Atkasan obtains a hazardous waste transportation license and ensures that hazardous wastes, which are of great importance for the industry, are transported to appropriate licensed recycling facilities.

Atkasan, which has started integrated waste management studies since 2005, has received an Environmental Consultancy Competence Certificate from the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization in accordance with the Environmental Legislation and has accelerated its efforts in this direction.

Atkasan, which operates with its professional team, equipment and vehicle park in waste collection; It provides service to every region of Turkey with its İzmir and Manisa facilities.

Within the scope of the Packaging Waste Control Regulation, it carries out the projects for the separate collection of packaging waste at the source, as a licensed collection-separation company, with many municipalities and authorized institutions.
