Sandhill Plastics

119 W 19th St, Kearney, Nebraska, United States | Plastic Recycling

Sandhill Plastics is a manufacturing specialist founded on the premise of using post consumer plastics as the raw material in its manufacturing process.

This philosophy stems from 2 years of research showing that although recycling is popular with the general public, there were very few end uses for the materials being recycled. This left an opening in the recycling loop.

To close that loop we have designed and built a sheet line extrusion system that produces a high quality sheet and has the capability to change the color, thickness and length. With this system we were able to process just over 2.4 million lbs. in 2015 alone, & saving over 36 million milk jugs from the landfill.

When we produce a 1/2″ sheet of HDPE plastic we keep the equivalent of 640 milk jugs from being landfilled.

This in addition to the savings of our natural resources, makes for considerable savings to society

What is unique about this product is that it is made from 100% recycled plastic. This plastic comes from various recycled plastics, including plastic milk jugs, pill bottles and soap containers. It is 10 times more durable than plywood. It is resistant to chemical deterioration, dry rot, mold, mildew, and moisture rot. Animals can’t chew on it nor will rodents be able to climb it. It is a very affordable alternative to other products.
