OUR PROCESS

RECEIVING

Converters are video graded (counted), prepared for decanning. Ceramic substrate is sent directly for processing and assay.

DECANNING, CRUSHING

Platinum Recovery & Recycling uses its own, patented technology to decan catalytic converters, which allows maximum recovery. All ceramic substrate is crushed, milled and sampled according to rigorous guidelines.

ASSAYING

Assaying is the process of determining the concentration of precious metals contained in ceramic substrate. Both ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectometry) and XRF (X-ray fluorescence) analysis are used on substrait samples from each shipment to determine exact amounts of precious metal content.
