As a social enterprise, BISA not only wants to strive for economic success, but also assume its responsibility in the social and ecological area. It is therefore a question of reconciling the harmonious interaction of these three elements.

MISSION STATEMENT

BISA offers services in the immediate vicinity.

BISA is PROXIMITY.

BISA collects green waste weekly from more than 8,000 contract customers within a radius of 30 kilometers.

BISA is also a 'local player' in household waste collection in various communities in the DG.

BISA accepts green waste from gardens and parks, processes it in such a way that the compost and wood chips obtained from it can be used back in gardens, parks and agricultural land. So the circle closes.

BISA takes on 10 new workers every year and integrates them into the labor market.

BISA gives disadvantaged people a stable social environment.

BISA offers training.

BISA uses vehicles and machines with the latest environmental technology.

BISA collects the green waste in one go so that thousands of citizens don't have to drive out to dispose of it.

BISA recycles and returns.

BISA thrives within the social economy by capitalizing on the needs of this niche business.

ECOLOGY

The collection of organic and household waste as well as the sustainable disposal, processing and recycling of green waste form the main focus of the core business.

SOCIAL

The social enterprise BISA has the particular goal of supporting recipients of integration income in their social and professional integration through individual, targeted analysis and support and thus making them fit for social-professional integration into the first job market.

ECONOMY

Business success is and remains the key to realizing the two aforementioned areas of focus.

STORY

For almost 20 years [1] , the social enterprise BISA has looked after the composting plant of the city of Eupen on Schönefelderweg as part of a project by the VHS-Bildungsinstitut VoG . The first phase of this international EC project began in October 1989 and included a training course to become a forest and landscape protection assistant.

 Since then, BISA has specialized in the disposal and processing of green waste and sets up green waste containers for private and commercial use and markets all kinds of compost products.

Since December 2007, the BISA has been recognized as a waste disposal company by the Walloon Region [2] .
