Avfall Sverige AB

Avfall Sverige is the municipalities' industry organization for waste management. Our 400 members are mainly municipalities, municipal associations and municipal companies but also private companies. We represent the municipal members towards politicians, decision-makers, authorities and the EU, pursue issues that are important to our members and also act as a reference body. Avfall Sverige conducts advocacy work both nationally and within the EU.

Avfall Sverige monitors what is happening in the waste industry in Sweden, the rest of Europe and the rest of the world. We also offer an extensive training activity that is adapted to the industry's skills needs. Development within the entire waste area is an important part of the business.

Avfall Sverige gathers the country's highest competence in the waste area and these specialist knowledge can be used by our members. We also assist other societal bodies, for example in investigations.

Avfall Sverige is the sum of all members and the chancellery. It is Avfall Sverige's members who ensure that waste is taken care of and recycled in all the country's municipalities. We do this on behalf of society: environmentally safe, sustainable and long-term.

Waste Sweden has a vision of a society without waste. We work on the basis of the waste hierarchy: prevent waste, work to ensure that more is reused and that the waste that is generated is recycled and disposed of in the best possible way.
