Zakład Utylizacji Odpadów Komunalnych 'Stary Las' Sp. z o. o. A limited liability company, established on June 30, 2003. On November 5, 2003, the Company was entered into the National Court Register under the KRS number: 0000177882.

Currently, ZUOK is one of the installations that make up the network of Municipal Installations in the Pomeranian Voivodeship. From July 1, 2012, the Plant processes municipal waste from the area of ​​20 communes that are also shareholders of the Plant: Bobowo, Czarna Woda, Kaliska, Karsin, Kościerzyna (town and commune), Liniewo, Lubichowo, Nowa Karczma, Osieczna, Osiek, Przywidz, Skarszewy, Skórcz (town and commune), Smętowo Graniczne, Stara Kiszewa, Starogard Gdański (town and commune), Zblewo, inhabited in total by less than 196,000. residents.

The purpose of the Plant's operation is to organize waste management in all 20 municipalities, which are also shareholders of ZUOK.

The tasks of the plant include:
- collection of municipal waste delivered by specialized companies
- from the entire southern region,
- processing of received waste,
- recovery of raw materials and their sale on the secondary market,
- temporary storage of hazardous waste and its transfer to specialized plants.
