Green Coast Rubbish

Founded in 2006, Green Coast Rubbish is a locally owned and operated, full-service junk removal company offering professional, courteous and hassle-free service throughout Metro Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. In addition to junk removal, we specialize in wastewater disposal and deconstruction and demolition projects of any size.

We are committed to sustainable waste diversion practices and recycle or donate as much as possible of the useable goods we collect, thereby diverting waste from taking up precious space in local landfills.

With a fleet of biodiesel trucks, a dedicated team of environmentally-conscious employees and green partnerships with other businesses throughout the community, Green Coast Rubbish has become a recognized leader in the field of waste management.

Since 2010, we have diverted at minimum 75% of the waste we hauled to recycling or other waste diversion streams. In 2019, we diverted over 560 tonnes of waste from landfills with a diversion rate of 77 percent!

Our Origins

In 2006, waste disposal in the Lower Mainland was dependent on unsustainable practices such as an over-reliance on landfills. Green Coast Rubbish co-founders Eamonn Duignan and his brother Cein recognized the need for a more environmentally-conscious approach to waste management.

At the time, Eamonn, the current owner, and CEO of Green Coast Rubbish was a UBC student working part-time for a junk removal company. Inspired by the idea of more eco-friendly ways to dispose of waste, Eamonn and Cein decided to start their own company.

Founded on the principle of improving how waste is managed in the local community, Green Coast Rubbish embraced such waste diversion methods as recycling and donating salvaged items to community organizations. The result: less reliance on landfills.

Over the past 12 years, Green Coast Rubbish has recycled well over 8 million pounds of waste material. We exceed the expectations of our clients, partners, and employees by making a meaningful difference in our community and protecting the natural environment
