How it Began

123JUNK began in 2008 when our founder, Collin Wheeler, was working as a move consultant for a local company. At 23 years old, the recent college graduate was struggling to meet his monthly quota. As he refined his sales strategy to convince people to move with him, Collin couldn’t ignore one glaring observation; people didn’t want to pay a moving company to move items that they no longer wished to keep.

Many of these people had tried to give away their unwanted items to charities, only to discover that these organizations were selective in what they would take. They also required the items to be at the curb, putting the labor burden on the client. Turnaround times to have a pickup scheduled sometimes topped weeks or months!

Collin saw this fresh opportunity. He scraped together four thousand dollars and bought an old landscape truck from his uncle. 123JUNK was born!

123JUNK Today

Since its inception, 123JUNK has grown quickly yet progressively, adding one or two vehicles per year to our fleet.

Today, you can’t miss the distinctive look of our shiny red trucks on the way to another haul.

123JUNK started with $4K and a beat up pick up truck. Our humble beginnings forced us to focus on growth through referrals from happy clients and an unparalleled obsession with service quality.

Today, 123JUNK is positioned as the prominent Eco-Friendly Junk Removal Service of our Nation's Capital and the surrounding areas of Northern Virginia and Maryland.
