The company Prof-Nizhniy Novgorod began to work in the market of the Nizhny Novgorod region in September 1999 . In 2007, the company, which has 18 scrap collection sites, entered the system that ensures raw material security of OJSC Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works.

At the beginning of 2009, the enterprise included 23 scrap collection sites . OOO Prof-Nizhniy Novgorod occupies 25% of the black scrap metal market of the Nizhny Novgorod region and is the leader in shipment of scrap from the region. In 2008, the scrap collection and transit departments shipped more than 160,000 tons of scrap metal. The largest sites are located in the cities: Nizhny Novgorod, Arzamas, Shakhunya, Zavolzhye, Pervomaisk.
