Terecoval

Terecoval's 34,000 m2 platform for the complete treatment of Large Cold Appliances (GEM F) is installed in the heart of Maurienne at La Chambre in Savoie. It has been operational since August 1, 2007. Nearly 1,000 refrigerators and freezers from 19 departments are processed there every day. After having been emptied of their oils and gases, the refrigerators are crushed into fine particles so that each material can be recycled into secondary raw material and consumed by the processing industries: iron, copper, plastic,... In the end, it is more than 95% of the fridge which is thus upgraded with this process.

greenhouse_effect_reduction

Based on a patented German process that has been proven worldwide for 15 years, Terecoval cleans up end-of-life refrigerators and freezers by vacuuming the greenhouse effect components contained in the motors and the foam inserted in the walls. Once packaged, these gases are sent to approved companies. CFCs (Freon for example) are gases widely used as refrigerants. The compounds of this gas are the main responsible for the observed decreases in the ozone layer, thus actively contributing to the increase in the greenhouse effect. Terecoval therefore plays a significant role in protecting the environment.

Following the European Directive applied in France since November 15, 2006, Terecoval was chosen by Eco-Systemes, an eco-organization approved by the State, for the treatment of all “GEM Froid” from 19 departments of the Rhône-Alpes regions. , Auvergne, Burgundy, Center and Limousin.

Since May 2007, these devices have been depolluted (oil and gas) on the La Chambre site.

In August, Terecoval entered a new processing phase: shredding and material recovery.

1,000 fridges are already treated every day.

The Chamber site is expected to process more than 200,000 devices per year.

sustainable development approach

Located in a rural revitalization zone, the industrial unit has created more than 30 new jobs, partly reserved for a local integration company. A new economic activity, an environmental issue, jobs, Terecoval is immediately part of sustainable development.
