We are a modern recycling company that has focused on waste and resources.

Our transport equipment, our large and versatile container park and our recycling facility at Flatholmen ensure our customers efficient and rational waste management. We accept all waste fractions and we perform all types of transport.

However, our greatest asset is the competence of our employees. Through cooperation with our customers, they can contribute to efficient and environmentally friendly solutions.

Our goal is clear: As much waste as possible must be recycled and become new products again. In this way, we are helping to turn waste into a resource.

Our background

Odd Østen Hurlen started with container service in Ålesund in 1972, after he had worked for a few years in Oslo and seen the practicalities of using containers for waste collection, which at the time did not exist in Ålesund.

He started with a car and fifteen containers, and today we count 12 cars, over 800 containers and 24 employees.

He ran a container service in addition to his work as general manager of Nortrail dept. Ålesund.

He then bought the department, and the name became SUNN-TRANS. The development went its own way, and container rental and waste treatment became a larger and larger part of the operation, and today SUNN-TRANS is a modern environmental company that offers all services within waste and recycling.

We received a license for the operation of recycling facilities in 1990, as the first in Møre og Romsdal.

At first, the communication between cars and the office was via radio telephony, but today the cars receive orders with order numbers for each customer sent directly from the driver's computer. with this he gets all the necessary information to be able to serve our customers in an efficient way.
