Romerike Avfallsforedling IKS (ROAF) works with collection, sorting, recycling and reuse of waste. We own and operate one of Europe's most modern sorting facilities for household waste, and have an extensive responsibility to manage the resources in the waste in an environmentally sound and responsible manner. We work continuously to give waste new life through a circular way of thinking, and take the environment into account in everything we do.

ROAF is an inter-municipal waste company for the municipalities of Aurskog-Høland, Enebakk, Gjerdrum, Lillestrøm, Lørenskog, Nittedal and Rælingen. We serve over 200,000 inhabitants, spread over approx. 90,000 households.

Our primary task is to take care of the practical implementation of the municipalities' responsibilities related to the management of household waste. ROAF is responsible for eight recycling stations, of which five are under its own auspices: Lillestrøm recycling station, Berger department, Fetsund department, Sørumsand department, and the recycling stations in Gjerdrum and Aurskog-Høland. The recycling stations Nittedal and Enebakk are operated by external parties on behalf of ROAF. Lørenskog recycling station is temporarily closed.

ROAF operates one active landfill, Bøler (Lillestrøm), as well as six closed landfills: Hellen (Gjerdrum), Løvås (Lillestrøm), Thorud (Enebakk), Nes (Rælingen), Nordlimyra (Lørenskog) and Holm (Nittedal).

We also have over 350 return points for glass and metal packaging located in our owner municipalities. ROAF has about 160 employees and a turnover of just over NOK 400 million.
