HISTORY

Soil-Concept has been an important industry partner for the recycling of sewage sludge and green waste in Luxembourg since 1996. In close cooperation with the inter-municipal syndicates SIDEN, SIDERO and SIACH and on behalf of many municipalities, Soil-Concept has been working successfully in the field of waste recycling for over 20 years.

At our depot in Fridhaff we have eight stationary rotting silos, a composting plant, two screening plants and a mobile shredding plant for green waste and green waste-sewage sludge mixtures. There are also three large wheel loaders in the machine park.

The company has around 12 employees and provides its services mainly for public, commercial and private customers.

FUTURE

As part of the European innovation project ENERCOM, a system for thermal waste recycling is also being developed. In the future, the sewage sludge substrate produced at the Fridhaff site is to be used as a fuel for biomass gasification and sustainable energy generation in addition to the classic product lines for compost production.

ENERCOM thus makes a significant contribution to national waste disposal and is supported by leading companies and government initiatives.

The ENERCOM project also forms the basis for innovative R&D projects. The testing of technical measures to minimize environmental pollution and innovative phosphorus recycling are milestones of the company.

MISSION & ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

Soil-Concept's field of activity is the efficient recycling of sewage sludge and organic municipal waste. The main focus is on material as well as energetic use.

Our solutions and processes:

We produce compost from sewage sludge and wood-like biomass for use as soil fertilizer and fuel. Through the thermal treatment and the combination of fluidized bed combustion and gasification, we generate decentralized green electricity and heat. At the same time, waste is reduced in a climate-neutral way and natural resources are conserved.

Soil-Concept's depot is so far the only approved sewage sludge recycling plant in Luxembourg. A third of the national sewage sludge volume is already processed here.
