HISTORY

1945-1989

The history of Abbruch Oberndörfer & Klessa GmbH goes back to the post-war period, when Max Klessa laid the foundation stone for today's company in Düsseldorf, which was bombed at the time. With demolition and clean-up work, he and his employees make a contribution to rebuilding the then shattered Düsseldorf .

History takes its course: In the years and decades that followed, a large number of buildings and facilities in and around Düsseldorf were demolished by Max Klessa and his team. Max Klessa succeeds in becoming a successful entrepreneur from a simple background. In the year the Berlin Wall came down, Mr. Klessa retired from the company for reasons of age.

1989-1999

The new managing director of Klessa Recycling GmbH will be Gerd Oberndörfer , who had previously worked successfully for his father's demolition company in Mülheim an der Ruhr for over 10 years. Mr. Oberndörfer sets new entrepreneurial impulses , so the old depot in Düsseldorf-Lichtenbroich and the somewhat outdated machine park are completely modernized.

In the 1990s, projects - including major projects such as the demolition of the old sack factory on Bruchstrasse in Düsseldorf with 20,000 m³ of enclosed space, the demolition of the St. Christopher School in Mönchengladbach with 25,000 m³ of enclosed space, as well as the dismantling of the old Puky works completed in Wülfrath with 50,000 m³ of enclosed space.

SINCE 2000

At the beginning of the 2000s, Klessa Recycling GmbH was renamed Abbruch Oberndörfer & Klessa GmbH. In addition, the branch in Oberhausen is opened in order to serve the increased demand from customers in the Ruhr area from now on.

In the years that followed, a whole series of other dismantling and demolition projects were successfully carried out in and around Düsseldorf, along the Rhine and in the entire Wupper area. The Ruhr area is also opening up more and more as an area of ​​activity. Examples of this are the demolitions of the former freight yard in Essen-Altenessen as well as the UCI cinema center in Bochum and the locomotive shed in Gelsenkirchen.

To date, Abbruch Oberndörfer & Klessa GmbH is an owner-managed family company with headquarters in Düsseldorf-Lichtenbroich and a branch in Oberhausen.
