Van der Bel bv is a West Frisian family business with almost 70 years of experience.

The foundations were already laid in the fifties by my great-grandfather Maarten van der Bel. With a sledgehammer and crowbar, a jute bag under the straps, he went on his bicycle to his very first job: the demolition of a house.

After a few years, his son, my grandfather, Jan van der Bel, joined the company. The usable material such as wood, roof tiles, window frames, sockets and even sanitary facilities that were released from the demolition work was used for reuse and sale. The cradle to cradle story of today already happened in the past!

1993

In 1993 my grandfather hands over the business to his daughter and son-in-law, my parents, Tinie and George Deken. At that time there were 5 people working in the company. In addition to demolition work, the company has also specialized in asbestos remediation since 1993.

I, Sjors Deken, joined the company in 2005 and over the years we have also started to specialize in (debris) recycling and environmental technology. I am now the 4th generation with the support of my brother Roy and my wife Marleen at the helm of the family business.

Today we work with about 50 people, 8 trucks, 12 excavators, 2 mobile rubble crushers and various other equipment. The working area is mainly North Holland.
