In 1966 BIOSCRAP LTD started to buy scrap irons and other metals in Aspropyrgos, Attica in order to sell them as raw materials in the metal processing plants of the group of companies of VIOHALCO. The activity of the company, in parallel with the development of the Greek industry, marked the creation of a new economic activity, pushing in modernization the sector of secondary raw materials and the related materials processing and transportation services. In 1973 this mission was undertaken by DIAPEM LTD.

In 1992 DIAPEM was transformed into a Societe Anonyme and changed its name to Metal Recycling SA, receiving the distinctive title ANAMET SA. At the same time, it moved its main processing and storage facilities to a central point of the Aspropyrgos industrial area, on NATO Avenue.

Since 2003 ANAMET has established a number of subsidiaries in Southeastern Europe, ANAMET doo (Serbia, 2003), ANAMET eood (Bulgaria, 2004) - which in 2007 was renamed Coppervalius eood, Novometal doo (FYROM, 2009) , as well as the acquisition of Inos Balkan AD (Serbia, 2006) and VIANATT SA in Aspropyrgos, Attica (2010).

The ANAMET group of companies made consolidated sales of 224 million euros in 2010 and employs a staff of 200 people.
