Company history

The history of the company dates back to 1860, when the company's founder Georg Adam Scheid joined the family jewelry company in Austria and then in 1888 he founded the company GH Scheidsche Affinerie Vienna. This company later founded an independent company in Prague in 1920. The Scheid affinity processed gold and silver scrap, refined pure metals from them, and subsequently produced and sold precious metal semi-finished products for jewelry and dental purposes. After the end of World War II, on May 14, 1945, Scheid's affinity was placed under the national administration of the PÅ™íbram Ore Mines. After the nationalization in 1948, another ten affinities of precious metals were added there. At this time, the production of platinum tools for laboratories, contacts for the electrical industry, the production of copper foils and their alloys, the production of AgNO3, was newly introduced

On January 1, 1950, a new independent national company called SAFINA was established, whose main activities were - affinity, testing and processing of precious and precious metals, plating with precious and precious metals, production of powder metals, production of apparatus and laboratory tools, and acquisition of precious metals . After 1989, SAFINA initially operated as a state-owned enterprise within metallurgical enterprises until its privatization, which took place on April 30, 1992. The joint-stock company became a production and sales organization, which gradually profiled its operations into production programs and services structured into separate product lines.
