Granitol

GRANITOL akciová společnost is the largest producer of blown polyethylene foils and PP binding tapes in the Czech Republic. However, the company's business activities far exceed the territory of the Czech Republic. A significant part of the production is exported to the countries of Central, Eastern and Western Europe.

The product portfolio includes foils for palletizing , foils for group packaging , foils for the production of cooking bags , construction foils , cover foils and tarpaulins , foils for the production of personal hygiene , laminated foils , laminated bags for Pet Food and HDPE foils MIKROTEN ® . LDPE and HDPE foils also serve as semi-finished products for the production of final products such as packaging foils, bags, bulk bags, sachets, camisoles, carrier bags and blanks. Professional printing in up to 10 colorsis provided on our own flexographic printing machines. A specific production is the extrusion of polypropylene (PP) binding tapes .

History

GRANITOL is a company with more than 125 years of tradition. Already in 1895, Moritz Hansel founded the Moravian Mechanical Weaving Mill, which was engaged in the production of leatherette based on nitrocellulose coatings. In 1910, the joint-stock company GRANITOL was established from the family factory, which further developed the production of artificial textiles with waxed canvas and artificial leather. In the first half of the 20th century, GRANITOL gradually engaged in the production of artificial suede leather, blinds, floor coverings, imitation leather, welded haberdashery, through the production of hoses and tubes for vacuum cleaners to the production of laminated products (PVC on paper and textiles).

Since 1967, GRANITOL has been engaged in the production of polyethylene films from LDPE . In 1976, it also expanded its production to include the production of HDPE films under the MIKROTEN ® brand .

After privatization in 1995, Granitol Union became the majority owner. In 2004, the majority share of shares was acquired by the Slovak investment group SLOVINTEGRA as , which in 2006 became a 100% owner. In the same year, an extensive investment program is launched, which aims to modernize machinery and expand production capacity. In May 2014, BGA became the sole shareholder.
