La Pagaille Recyclerie

Story

This project was thought out and built by a gang of six people with multiple professions and backgrounds who met on housing struggles. The desire was to formalize the activities they were already doing: recycling, street canteens, repairing objects, redacting, festive events, all this in the same place and in the Ivry-Port district in which they live or have been spending time for many years.

La Pagaille aims to limit the production of waste by collecting all the objects and materials that their owners no longer need. It upgrades part of it through sorting, sending to recycling organizations, cleaning but also through repair and customization by making furniture 'made in Mayhem'. She sells all of these products at affordable prices in a solidarity shop, so that everyone has access to them. It also raises awareness of reuse through creative or construction workshops

This recycling center is also a place for exchanges and meetings thanks to a café area in which there are canteens, workshops and events. It is also a place of resource in the broad sense, which allows the storage of shared material, which provides spaces to support community life and social struggles.

In order to perpetuate its activities and with the desire to offer jobs to people in dire straits, La Pagaille has employed around fifteen people since October 2018 with an integration worksite workshop agreement. With all this energy, La Pagaille is teeming with new projects and desires for the future.

La Pagaille makes its name a happy mix between the desire to be able to live economically from this project while continuing to have non-profit solidarity activities, to make integration while promoting autonomy and horizontality between all people employees.
