Story

Projunip - in action for people

The Projunip cooperative was founded in 1997 - at a time of great youth unemployment in the canton of Glarus - with the aim of accompanying unemployed, sometimes 'school-tired' young people through meaningful employment and appropriate, individual support as far as possible into an apprenticeship.

We were successful in this. 3 out of 4 young people achieved this goal.

Later on we campaigned for unemployed adults until 2013 with adapted funds.

This included assignments in various areas: recycling and services (Voilà - the home delivery service, bike couriers, SBB train escorts, coffee bar in the 'GlarnerSprinter', care services in old people's homes).

Our network was helpful and made it possible for many job seekers to receive opportunities, which resulted in employment relationships.

Since 2013 we have only continued the recycling business and employ asylum seekers on a temporary basis. You can make good use of your 'waiting time' for a period of up to 6 months.

They get used to a work rhythm, have the opportunity to acquire language skills at work and receive additional financial means - they earn their own money.

We still have the opportunity to continue at least one service.
