Fortoff Recycling
Pronksi Street, 5-17, Tallinn, Harjumaa [Tallinn], Estonia | Tire and Rubber Recycling
Oru Mission
For a long time huge amounts of used tires in the Baltic states have been discarded or stored in unauthorized landfills not intended for storage and disposal, thereby posing a serious threat to the Baltic states’ unique nature, public health and ecology. The issue of recycling hazardous types of waste like worn-out tires is very acute in this region at the moment. In particular, the car and trucking segment is growing by dozens of percent every year.
The amount of waste tires in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania totals about 50,000 tons per year. Tire recycling companies are nearly nonexistent (they are rather small and artisanal facilities). There is no centralized system of tire collection and recycling in many regions of the Baltics, thus large amounts of unrecycled tires are accumulated every year, bringing much harm to the environment.
All of the above has prompted our company to turn to the issue of recycling used tires closely. Currently, there are several ways of recycling; they fall into chemical and mechanical types. In our case, we use environmentally friendly mechanical method and waste-free production. According to ecologists and experts, the mechanical method of recycling tires is categorized as the most beneficial and environmentally safe. It will not pollute the soil and the atmosphere with harmful substances.
By launching our recycling company, we will be able to cut down steadily on the growing volumes of waste rubber in the Baltics available for recycling, we will recycle it into crumb rubber, a material widely used in the industrial sector.
The EU is currently taking steps to reduce the adverse environmental and human impacts of tires in accordance with the International Environmental Standards ISO 14000 series. Many foreign countries such as England, Germany, Holland, Denmark, Canada, USA, Switzerland have already introduced national standards for carcinogenic substances in rubber products and the environment.
Our company has reviewed the situation in the Baltic region and decided to develop and build a commercially available tire recycling plant in all Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania). We signed a contract with one of the world’s leading companies producing such equipment, ECO Green Equipment, USA under the brand name ECO-RP-2000 for the supply of a tire recycling production line with a subsequent paint job.
