DSV is a general construction company and focuses on both public authorities and customers from the industry. DSV carries out work in road construction and is involved in new construction and renovation of buildings. DSV is recognized as a registered contractor in the following categories: Construction category D class 7 & Road construction category C class 8.

Mission

DSV's corporate philosophy is based on the following principle: 'The best quality can only be achieved by the most skilled and dedicated employees and with the help of innovative materials and machines.' It was this inspiration that laid the foundation in 1981formed of DSV and it still is today. Thanks to its many years of know-how, study and innovative materials, DSV wants to focus on numerous creative concepts, implementation methods, designs, etc. primarily for internal use, but increasingly as an integral service for the client. DSV wants to offer the client, private or others, a “full service”, from structural work to finishing. This means, among other things, that the client can obtain technical information, designs and advice about exterior finishing, interior finishing, decoration, exterior construction, road works or new materials.

Four guidelines apply to our thinking and acting: quality, innovation, well-being and safety. DSV develops solutions tailored to the client and attaches great importance to quality. In order to keep up-to-date with new technology and working methods in the construction sector, DSV regularly organizes refresher courses and training for both blue-collar and white-collar workers. Every employee must be motivated so that he/she starts the working day with a good feeling. Every employee is regarded as a specialist in his field, has a say in the organization of the work and is paid according to his work. The management is convinced that the best investment, is an investment in skilled, motivated and loyal staff. Every day, attention is paid to safety, ergonomics, occupational hygiene, the environment, etc.

History

General construction company DSV was founded in Scherpenheuvel on 1 July 1981, during a period with an unfavorable business climate. The conclusion that the construction activity had already become too firmly established in traditionalism and new production methods, contemporary working methods, modern materials and machines remained unused, reinforced the founders of DSV, Messrs André Dewinter, Julien Schoolmeesters and Roger Vander Velpen, in their conviction that, provided a innovative approach there was still room for a construction company in Flemish Brabant. DSV's corporate philosophy is based on the following principle: the best quality can only be achieved by the most skilled and dedicated employees, using innovative materials and machines. The managers, together with a dozen employees, concretized this inspiration and this conviction soon took shape in numerous tenders and assignments. In 1986, the company switched to the status of an NV (public limited company). The company has since grown from 29 employees to 65. For this growth, the company received the “Price of the Employment Contribution” in 1988, awarded by the Gewestelijke Ontwikkelingsmaatschappij, the Province of Flemish Brabant and ASLK. In June 1990, DSV established itself in the industrial zone in Aarschot. Terheidelaan 69 shows the result of what started small ten years earlier. In addition to modern offices, a spacious 2000 m² warehouse was provided. It includes a fully equipped carpentry workshop, a garage for the maintenance of the extensive fleet of vehicles and machinery, and a warehouse. The sites in Aarschot were further expanded in 1994 with the purchase of adjacent industrial sites. DSV also built a brand new concrete mixing plant. In 2002 DSV employed more than 100 people for the first time. The existing sheds were further expanded in 2008. and a new storage hall was erected. Meanwhile, there are already 120 people working for NV DSV, 15 of whom are white-collar workers and more than 100 blue-collar workers, and the turnover continues to increase every year.
