Dynamo Paper Crafts
Calle Juan Palencia s / n, Muriedas, Cantabria, Spain | Paper Recycling
What is Dynamo?
Dínamo opened its doors in 1997, it is a project with many years of experience, managed by the Cantabrian Citizen Association Anti Aids.
It is a workshop that uses as a base methodology the recycling of paper and its elaboration from vegetable fibers, following artisanal techniques (one by one) and respectful with the environment (neither dyes nor bleaches are used). The paper making activity is complemented by the creation of products based on this raw material: paper handling, bindings, cardboard work, etc. During the stay in the workshop of the participants, the educational intervention affects three fundamental aspects, the social, psychological and pedagogical aspect, in order to achieve a comprehensive training that provides the people involved with the necessary tools to face in a way autonomous their process of social and labor insertion.
The workshop was born out of the need to provide a training resource that adapts to the peculiarities of people with HIV / AIDS and / or in a situation of social exclusion attended at ACCAS. In many cases we find people who require a previous step before accessing the training and / or work resources offered by public administrations, since due to their life trajectories they do not have the tools and / or habits necessary to overcome a process standardized training.
The difficulties presented by the beneficiaries of this program originate from different components of social, health, cultural, training and / or work origin. Some of them are:
Socio-sanitary aspects: being in drug withdrawal processes, physical limitations derived from the disease, disabilities, lack of coverage of basic needs, etc.
Training and work aspects: little and / or no training, lack of work experience, large occupational gaps, lack of correct work habits in relation to work, etc.
Cultural aspects: ignorance of the environment, language problems, administrative regularization, etc.
This resource must take into account the needs of the beneficiaries, not only training needs, but also personal and social ones. That is why the program includes the allocation of training scholarships to the participants, who will be present throughout the process (except for the reception phase) and their amount will vary depending on the phase and the fulfillment of objectives reached, this tool is seen from this group as an essential tool to ensure the coverage of the basic needs of the people who participate in the workshop as well as helping to increase their motivation in the training process.
With the creation of the socio-labor insertion project, Dínamo, we want to provide a comprehensive response to the situation in which people with HIV / AIDS and others in situations of social vulnerability find themselves, ranging from basic training adapted to personal needs to temporary hiring as an impulse towards the ordinary labor market.
