History

Solanas Industrial Recovery formerly known as Ricardo Solanas, is a family business that has been an authorized waste manager for more than 60 years. It was founded by Mr. Ricardo Solanas Sierra, and since then it has developed in the waste sector, advancing in parallel with the management needs that have been detected in the industry.

In 1951, and because of the promotion for the recovery of waste from tin-sealed cans by the Government, Ricardo Solanas opened the first warehouse for the management of said waste in the center of Córdoba. The development of this activity prompted the entrepreneur to simultaneously promote the retail purchase of metallic waste.

Likewise, and detecting the prevailing modernization in the agricultural sector, industrial dismantling work is started in this type of industry, positioning itself as a benchmark in the market for scrapping and demolition of large-scale structures.

After this decade, already in the 60s and 70s, the acquisition of the new facilities, located in front of the engineering school, fostered the development of what currently supports the basic pillars of the current company: purchase and sale of ferrous metals and non-ferrous goods, purchase of paper and cardboard and large-scale industrial dismantling. Those were times when mechanization and the increase in qualified labor facilitated specialization in the waste recovery sector.

In the 80s and 90s, and coinciding with the incorporation of the founder's sons into the company, Ricardo Solanas opened a new warehouse in which the retail purchasing activity would be concentrated. The mechanization of the company and the expansion of the mobile fleet favored the adaptation of resources to the needs of the emerging industry. Being a constant the renewal of mechanized equipment for the recovery of waste and transport. In line with the legislative changes, Ricardo Solanas acquires the title of authorized manager of hazardous waste of the Andalusian community AN-0056 , which is maintained today.

With the arrival of the turn of the century and until now, the re-founded Solanas Industrial Recovery SA continues to compete in the waste recovery sector, providing services to private companies and public bodies, performing all kinds of services in the management of metallic waste, paper, cardboard, plastic, confidential destruction of documents and industrial scrapping.
