Grunewald Papier

We are a family business that has existed since 1875 and has operated a paper mill at the Kirchhundem-Hofolpe site since the end of the 19th century. All company shares are owned by the Grünewald family. Also in the fourth generation, the company is managed by a member of the owner family.

The heart of our company is formed by the more than 100 employees at Grünewald Papier, almost all of whom are based in the region. All employees have a proverbial love of paper and a high level of identification with the product and the company. This is also reflected in the average length of service of over 20 years. Cross-generational family members work at Grünewald Papier not only in the owner family, but also in many employee families.

The majority of our employees have completed their training in our company and more than half have qualifications as paper technologists, industrial foremen in paper production or as paper engineers.

Our company philosophy is shaped by the idea of ​​sustainability. For decades, the avoidance of environmental pollution - for example through the economical use of raw materials, auxiliary materials, energy and water and the avoidance of emissions - as well as the relief of landfill space have been our priority goals.

We have switched our raw material base as far as possible from cellulose to waste paper and steadily reduced water consumption by optimizing recycling and wastewater treatment. Our thermal energy supply is state-of-the-art thanks to the installation of a modern, energy-efficient gas boiler.
