AMARSUL

The Sorting Units are facilities with specific equipment that ensure the mechanical and manual separation of all materials received and that were selectively collected from the population. The separation of the various types of materials allows to send this waste to the recycling industry with the necessary quality requirements. In this way, recyclable materials separated by the population and placed in recycling bins (or collected by another system) can be transformed into new products in the future.

Amarsul has 1 Packaging Sorting Unit, which ensures this detailed task with quality and rigor, located in the Ecoparque do Seixal, where all packaging collected in the yellow recycling bins of the Setúbal Peninsula is received. In 2020, 37 thousand tons of paper, glass, plastic and metal were treated, duly sent for recycling, saving resources for the country and the planet.
