The creation of the company dates back to the 60s of the last century, when the business was a small sawmill that sold wood and firewood. Later, in the 1970s, the company moved to its current location, at the entrance to the town of Santa Coloma de Farners (Girona).

Evolution

Following a basic premise such as vertical integration, the company incorporated in its production process the manufacture of wooden packaging (mainly pallets) based on the wood obtained in the sawmill. At the beginning of the 2000s, the two activities were separated into two different buildings, thus increasing their manufacturing capacity exponentially.

Currently

Today the company is positioned among the most important in Catalonia. Pallets J. Martorell has an area of ​​60,000 square meters and industrial buildings over 7,000, with a manufacturing capacity of more than 1,500,000 pallets per year, 40,000 tons of biomass (chip, pellets, bark, etc. …) And with a staff of 95 workers (75 direct and 20 indirect).
