Berziklatu

It is a pioneering initiative in the European field, which brings together for the first time the public sector and entities with social and non-profit objectives in a common project aimed at the integral management of urban waste and the socio-labor insertion of people in a situation or risk of social exclusion.

Berziklatu is a project designed by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia for the comprehensive treatment of bulky waste generated in Bizkaia through the generation of insertion employment. Launched in 2007, the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, Garbiker, Emaús and Koopera participate.

The creation of the Plant is part of the II Integral Urban Waste Management Plan of Bizkaia 2005-2016. This plan pursues the 'zero dumping of primary waste'. For this, Berziklatu is committed to maximizing the reuse and recycling of the materials contained in the waste.
