The current company was born in 1953 as an industry dedicated to the manufacture of cellulose for paper from esparto, very abundant in its area of ​​influence. In 1972, through an important transformation, esparto was abandoned as a raw material, replacing it with “cotton linters”, being currently the only Spanish and European company and one of the few in the world that manufactures cellulose from this raw material. .

In 1980 it was established as a Cooperative Society under the name of CELULOSAS DEL SUR, SCA and CELSUR as image and trade name. Later, in 1991, it was transformed into a commercial company, with limited liability, with the company name COTTON SOUTH, SL

The factory is located in an area of ​​150,000 m2, with a large stock of raw materials of 30,000 m2, equipped with the most modern fire prevention and extinguishing systems.

The workforce is made up of 70 people - 60% as partners - owners -, with a high technical level and extensive professional experience.
