Gainesville Waste & Recycling (GWAR, LLC)

2033 Old County Dump Road, Gainesville, Georgia, United States | Landfills

Gainesville Waste & Recycling (“GWAR, LLC”) was formed in 2007.  Recognizing the impending importance of recycling in the North Georgia area, GWAR was created, along with guidance from the Georgia Environmental Protection Agency, to provide a convenient location to house a construction and demolition land fill, a recycling center and a multi-faceted composting facility.

Located conveniently off of I-985, GWAR is easily accessible from each main corridor in northern Georgia.  GWAR incorporates 101 total acres into its facility with additional adjoining acreage as potential growth.

The Construction and Demolition Component to GWAR, LLC services the entire northern half of the state of Georgia, and the southwestern portion of South Carolina.  GWAR accepts building materials that do not have the potential to contaminate the ground water which includes:  all wood products, asphalt, drywall, masonry (e.g., concrete, bricks) as well as metals, plastics, earth, shingles, and insulation.  Upon acceptance of these materials, GWAR, LLC estimates that it will recycle up to 60% of the materials.

In operation since May 2012, GWAR receives 200-300 tons per day of local waste and 1,200 tons per day of imported waste from nearby industries/counties.  For more information on posted tipping fees for GWAR, LLC please contact our office at the phone number listed above.
