Tessile Fiorentina Company S.r.l.
Via Fonda di Mezzana, 35/3 , Prato , Prato, Italy | Polystyrene Recycling
Tessile Fiorentina Company chooses to produce sustainable fabrics for a safer and more responsible future in fashion. Prato has been a market leader in the practice of regenerating textile fibers for many years and we also collaborate with a network of local producers who use recycled raw materials, obtaining textile fibers from the recycling of post-consumer garments and production waste. Our sustainable fibers are regenerated wool, recycled polyester, recycled cotton, mulesing free merino wool and moretta wool.
The regenerated wool is obtained by recycling post consumer garments and scraps of textile processes, compounds in different percentages, of wool. The wool regeneration technique was born in the textile district of Prato and has been handed down for many years.
The recycled polyester is obtained from the recycling of plastic bottles. This eco-friendly process contributes to waste disposal and expresses Italian creativity at the service of sustainable textile production.
The recycled cotton is obtained by recycling old clothes and scraps of cotton processing, which are processed to get a new and fully sustainable fabric.
The mulesing free Merino wool comes from suppliers who do not use the practice of mulesing and obtain the raw material through a production process in which no animals have been mistreated.
The moretta wool is a natural wool that comes from the combination of different shades of color, the colors are the original ones of the sheep and range from white to dark brown. Moretta wool, not being dyed, is totally sustainable and its production contributes to saving water and energy and lower carbon dioxide emissions.
We also use virgin raw materials, in addition to recycled ones, we evaluate their origin and technical characteristics and combine them using innovative textile and finishing technologies.
History
Birth
1958
Mario Becagli founded Tessile Fiorentina, from the idea that a circular machine for the production of pile fabrics, seen during a trip to the United States, could produce an innovative fabric: ecological fur. The first plant of Tessile Fiorentina includes a park of 6 circular machines, produces 540 meters per day of pile and knitted fabrics and has 7 workers. The Tessile Fiorentina of Mario Becagli & Co, a Simple Limited Company, soon became a Spa and continues to grow, becoming a reference point for the Italian and international textile market.
1970
REVOLUTION
In the 1970s, the Prato-based company carried out a small revolution: by modifying one of its machines, it invented the recycled pile technique, a particular process that allows diversification in production and an expansion of the offer, thus giving life to the new line of fabrics by boiled wool.
1980
EVOLUTION
In the 1980s, fleece spread on the American markets, a fabric with exceptional technical characteristics, suitable for facing extreme climatic situations. Tessile Fiorentina immediately realizes its potential and specializes in its production, thus managing to establish itself with this product on world markets. In the following years, Tessile Fiorentina fine-tuned the production of coated, “coupled” and imitation leathers, sectors which are still evolving today.
2021
TODAY
Today a new generation of Becagli leads the company, bringing the lifeblood of the new millennium to a tradition that has been able to build a reality on intuition, craftsmanship and passion.
