C.Li.RISrl (CENTRO LIVORNESE RECUPERO INERTI Srl) is a company authorized for the storage and treatment of special non-hazardous waste deriving mainly from construction and demolition and excavation operations.

Today the activity is carried out on an area of ​​about 39,000 square meters divided into 4 areas: excavation material storage area, demolition waste storage area, and other types of waste and finally an area for treatment and storage of recycled materials.

The treatment and selection plant has a processing capacity of approximately 1,200 tons per day. This plant, equipped with sophisticated separation systems for non-stone materials, guarantees the absence of foreign bodies in the recovered materials (the quantity does not reach 0.1% by mass as required by the relevant legislation); the entire complex benefited from the EEC 2081/93 structural funds back in 1996 and production and recycling began in February 1997, with about 150,000 tons per year up to the current authorization that allows us to treat and restart the use up to 366,000 tons per year. It is emphasized that previously such waste was disposed of in controlled landfills or more often in illegal landfills and along the slopes of local or secondary roads,

For demolition, collection and transport operations, C.Li.RISrl makes use of its partners: Abate Srl , Bellabarba Gaetano & CSrl and CLC Soc. Coop .. who are all registered in the National Register of Disposers, guaranteeing, in this way, all operations are carried out in full compliance with regulations and the environment.

On 30/05/08 a new authorization was issued by the Province of Livorno based on art. 208 of Presidential Decree 152/06. This authorization was issued after a long bureaucratic process, which began at the end of 2005, also including the Environmental Impact Assessment (VIA) with a resolution of the Provincial Council at the end of 2007, and after the Company, during numerous service conferences, amply demonstrated to all the bodies in charge (Province of Livorno, Municipality of Livorno, ARPAT and USL) the best guarantees for the protection of the environment and for the protection of workers.

This new authorization provides for the possibility of treating up to a maximum of 366,000 tons, and the treatment, storage and yard areas available are equal to 39,000 square meters. This authorization was definitively integrated with Managerial Act 209 of 23/12/09.

C.Li.RISrl in compliance with the provisions of the UNI EN 13242 standard carries out the CE marking of all materials leaving the factory, ensuring that the recycled material produced and sold is suitable both from a technical and environmental point of view. For this reason, the company has a technical analysis laboratory capable of verifying the quality of all the materials produced.

All control operations on materials (technical analysis and chemical and eco-compatibility analysis) are outsourced to qualified analysis laboratories. These checks are repeated according to the timing agreed upon during the authorization phase.

Since 2004 the company has been using a truck with multi-bucket crates which are deposited in the various construction sites. The box is delivered within 24 hours of the request and is subsequently collected on the customer's call. This allows a considerable saving of manpower for the user as he will be able to allocate the worker to carry out other, more profitable, processes; certain costs, speed and punctuality in the service, the possibility of placing more bins at the same time. Considering the amount of work and in relation to the sensitivity of the Company to the Environment problem, in January 2007 a second very low emission truck of the latest generation (EURO 4) was purchased, for circulation in the city, while the old truck is still used. very efficient, for services outside the city or in industrial areas.

In 2010 we increased our business through a CEMENTED MIX plant. It is completely automatic, controlled by a software and is able to mix 3 types of inert materials in doses chosen by the customer with a quantity of cement ranging from 3% up to 15% by volume. All checks are carried out automatically and without the intervention of the operator, who only has the function of loading the system and checking its correct functioning. This plant was put into operation in order to satisfy the growing demand of customers to use materials bound with cement or any other binder. This process allows a saving, in quantity, of raw material to be used to make the embankment, considerably improving the bearing capacity of the embankment itself and guarantees considerable resistance to the finished work.

Furthermore, in 2009 C.Li.RISrl, to meet the needs of the Lucchini Spa Company of Piombino, developed a plant capable of recovering steel mill slag. Over the last few decades these have been the subject of very serious problems for Lucchini and for the areas close to them. After a study, evaluations and investigations, a system capable of responding to the problem was born. Today the material is a resource, yesterday it was a waste. For this reason the Province of Livorno with its own managerial act has started the recovery according to article 208 of Legislative Decree 152/06. All recovered materials, some suitable for road substrates, others for raw material for cement and bituminous conglomerates, have obtained CE certification in compliance with the UNI EN 13242, 12620 13043 standards.
