Waste Disposal and Recycling

Northern A-1 disposes, transports, and recycles all hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams for residential, commercial, and industrial clients across Northern Michigan. We offer complete demolition services, and operate a fully permitted non-hazardous processing plant where waste streams can be prepared for Type II Municipal Solid Waste Landfill following solidification. All hazardous waste streams are safely transported to RCRA-permitted treatment facilities in compliance with USDOT and MDOT regulations. Northern A-1 also uses an oil/water separation system for oil collection, and we provide recycling and storage of gasoline products.

Our sister company American Waste operates 50 recycling collection centers throughout Grand Traverse County, transfer facilities in Traverse City and Kalkaska MI, and two recycling facilities: a business and residential recycling Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) in Traverse City, and a Construction and Demolition Recycling Facility in Kalkaksa. Recyclable materials collected during the course of Northern A-1's work are transported to the appropriate recycling facility for segregation, recycling, and reuse.
