Roseridge Regional Landfill is fully designed and operated as an environmentally secure landfill, with a detailed operating plan and a stringent environmental monitoring program. 

• In operation since 1980.
• Receives approximately 70,000 tonnes of municipal solid waste annually
• The Roseridge Waste Management Services Commission is a partnership between six municipalities to provide a region-wide • essential service. The members are the Towns of Bon Accord, Morinville, Gibbons, Redwater, Legal and Sturgeon County.
• Each municipality elects a director to serve on the Board.
• The Roseridge Waste Management Services Commission has the authority to establish policies and procedures required to support proper waste disposal at the landfill site.

The Commission

• Receives Provincial approval to operate facility.
• Financially responsible for operation.
• Establishes and enforces site rules and regulations
• Issues all commercial permits.

The Municipality

• Issues residential permits to constituents.
• Establishes maximum amounts of waste that each resident can dispose of annually.
• Establishes fees for waste over the annual limit.

Only residents of the member municipalities within Sturgeon County are granted landfill privileges.

• Valid landfill permits must be displayed upon entry to the landfill.
• Residents of Lancaster Park must show proof of residency every time to access Landfill.
