AMIAT Gruppo Iren

Amiat (Azienda Multiservizi Igiene Ambientale Torino) is the joint-stock company that has been managing and providing integrated soil hygiene, waste collection and disposal services in the city of Turin for over forty years .

The registered office is located in the municipality of Turin, in via Germagnano 50, while the head office is located in via Giordano Bruno 25.

The corporate purpose is the management of services aimed at protecting, conserving and enhancing environmental quality, without territorial constraints.

History

On 1 January 1969 , the Municipality of Turin founded AMRR , Municipal Waste Collection Company, which was entrusted with the collection, transport and disposal of Turin's urban waste.

Over the years, the company has acquired more and more skills, with the management of new services and the design and construction of specialized plants for waste treatment and recovery.

In 1990 , AMRR changed its acronym to Amiat , Azienda Multiservizi Igiene Ambientale Torino.

In 1997 , Amiat became a special company of the municipality and in 2000 a joint stock company.

In October 2010 , the City of Turin acquires complete control of the company, bringing its shareholding to 100%: Amiat therefore becomes a “Joint-stock company with sole shareholder”.

In 2011 , the City of Turin grants 100% of the Amiat shares (89,700 shares) to Finanziaria Città di Torino Holding Srl, the company (100% of the City of Turin), which aims to implement a coordinated and unitary administrative action to organize municipal investee companies efficiently, effectively and economically.

In December 2012 , the Finanziaria Città di Torino Holding Srl sells 49% of the Amiat shares in a tender launched by the City of Turin. The same are acquired by Amiat V. SpA, a corporate vehicle consisting of Iren SpA, Iren Emilia SpA and Acea Pinerolese Industriale SpA.

At the end of 2014 , the Municipality of Turin decided to sell an additional 31% stake in Amiat; Amiat V. asserts the purchase option, reaching 80% ownership of the company.
