Mission statement

Building material recycling is a tradition in Austria - for 30 years the BRV has endeavored to find advantageous solutions for the optimal use of recycled building materials in agreement with the environmental authorities, property developers and building authorities and of course with the building and recycling industry. The guideline for recycled building materials represented the state of the art as early as 1990, the recycling building materials ordinance became a viable instrument thanks to the involvement of the BRV and the amendment in 2016. Austria is one of the few countries in Europe to have a regulation notified at European level that allows recycled building materials to end up waste due to their high quality.

Recycled building materials are building materials of first choice - in addition to the structural test (which is identical to other building materials), the environmental compatibility is also tested: a plus for the client! In addition to the recycled building material products, which can be used without restriction wherever building materials are to be used, there are seven other qualities that also enable high-quality use, for example in concrete or asphalt. The BRV stands for over 80 member companies and over 120 systems - it is THE association that takes care of the circular economy of mineral products in the construction industry
