Our company, A. Markolin GmbH, based in Krobathen, is a Carinthian family business that has existed for several generations. The company was founded before the war - back then as a charcoal factory for the production of charcoal. The Bleiberger Bergwerks Union (BBU) was supplied with charcoal as early as the 1940s. In addition, timber was transported with five trucks for Funder and Hespadomain. In this way, Friedrich Markolin established the basis for this company.

The further successful history of our earthworks company in Krobathen

In the 1970s, ballast production was added as a field of activity. Alois Markolin expanded the business to include earthmoving. Construction machines were purchased, the vehicle fleet was expanded, and a hall with an in-house workshop was built. His son and current managing director, Bernhard Markolin, continued to expand the company.

Demolition activities are now also being carried out and a quarry and an approved interim storage area for recycled building materials are operated. The company has grown steadily in recent years and now has 60 employees.
