Peter Seppele Gesellschaft mbH is always on the cutting edge and has been adapting to the changing and new needs of society for 90 years. In addition to further development, tradition and a sense of responsibility in the company are also very important.

The sense of responsibility already has a tradition as it has been passed on from generation to generation. The Seppele company has always been particularly concerned with environmental protection. For this reason, garbage collection was added to the range of services more than 45 years ago. In the meantime, the main fields of activity are in addition to waste management, in the areas of insulation materials and solid and liquid fuels.

Company history

1929

The Seppele company was originally founded as a transport company by Hans Seppele. At that time, Hans Seppele ensured the regular service with a bus between Feistritz / Drau and Stockenboi / Weissensee.

1934

The wagon operation was started. A converted truck was used to deliver groceries from Stockenboi to Villach and back again.

1940

The trade in solid fuels was started, ensuring local supplies in the dark days of the war.

1956

The company's founder, Hans Seppele, dies at a young age. The company is continued by his wife Josefine.

1967 T

he mineral oil trade, which completes the fuel range of the Seppele company, was started.

1968

Josefine Seppele handed over the business to her son Peter Seppele.

1971

The range was expanded to include garbage disposal.

1979

Purchase of a larger company site

1980

The family business was converted into Peter Seppele Ges.mbH and has since specialized in waste separation, recycling and sorting.

1994

Commissioning of the sorting and car drying plant with scrap processing

1994

Purchase of the large tank farm in Villach-Seebach

1996

Installation of a new line of business: production and distribution of insulation materials from daily newspapers

1996

Opening of the recycling center and truck workshop in Villach

1998

Installation of a new line of business: construction of a pelletizing plant for the production of paper pellets as impact sound insulation and wood pellets as heating material.

2001

Expansion of the pelletizing plant to include a chip store and a pelletizing press in Feistritz / Drau

2002

Implementation of quality and environmental management system

2003

Expansion and renovation of the commercial waste sorting plant

2004

Opening and commissioning of a second production plant for pellets in Sachsenburg

2004

Expansion by a warehouse and a bagging line in the Sachsenburg production plant

2007

Expansion by a third pelleting press in the Sachsenburg production plant

2008

After 40 successful years as managing director, Peter Seppele sen. the management responsibility to his son Peter Seppele jr.

2010

Expansion of the Thermofloc cellulose insulation production by a second production line

2013

The heat and process heat supply at all three locations comes from 100% renewable energy sources. (Wood pellets, wood chips and bark)

2014

Construction of a photovoltaic system with a total output of 345 kWp.

2017

Installation of a post-cleaning system in the existing chemical-physical treatment plant for liquid waste in Feistritz / Drau. Through a combination of different filter media and processes, the function of a so-called police filter is given and the system is equipped with the best available state-of-the-art technology (BAT).

2017

Optimization of the production process and expansion by a fourth pellet press in the Sachsenburg production plant.

2018

Doubling of the bagging capacity by replacing the existing wood pellet bagging line in the Sachsenburg pellet factory 

2018 Construction of a new winding system with edge feeder for increased pallet stability

2019

Construction of an additional belt dryer for drying sawdust in the Sachsenburg production plant.

2020

Construction of a large baler for packaging cellulose insulation materials in the Feistritz / Drau production plant.
