The story of Berthold:

In 1970 Berthold Ernst sen. a company and started trading junk goods. Two years after it was founded, Berthold began collecting garbage in Laa / Thaya with the first garbage truck. After Berthold made a name for himself as a waste disposal company, the communities of Langenzersdorf, Mistelbach and Hollabrunn were also won over and won over as customers.

In 1990 the Berthold Abfallsammler G.m.b.H. founded, which takes over the disposal of problematic substances.

Three years later, Berthold Entsorgungsgesellschaft m.b.H. registered in the commercial register, which is responsible for the disposal of the packaging materials.

After 33 years, Berthold Ernst sen. in 2003 passed his company over to his children Berthold Ernst jun. and Berthold Elisabeth, who are now in charge of the management. With the handover, the Berthold G.m.b.H. founded. This company takes care of the business fields of waste collection, container service, composting, wood shredding, chopping service, secondary raw material trading, street sweeping and waste disposal.

In 2006 the company Berthold Holding G.m.b.H. founded, which holds the shares of the three Berthold companies.

The Berthold Group currently employs around 70 people, making it one of the largest employers in the region. The introduced quality management ISO 9001 and environmental management ISO 14001 ensure high quality work performance as well as an above-average positive and careful treatment of our environment in the future. In addition, Berthold is a certified compost quality company.
