We have been a successful company in the areas of compounding & masterbatching as well as recycling for many years.

Our focus in recycling is the processing of post-consumer waste and the direct upcycling of production waste.

History

The successful basis was laid back in 1975:

Mr. Gerhard Walter founds the company Walter Paper & Plastic. He has been dealing with the disposal of paper waste and plastics since the beginning of the 1970s and has also set up a container service in Wels and the surrounding area.

1933

Founding of the Welser Kunstoff Recycling-WKR GmbH together with the son-in-law Mr. Jörg Schneeberger, Mr. Dr. Pupeter and Mr. Mag. Martin Dupal. ÖKK concludes a contract with the newly founded WKR for the supply of plastic films.

1994

Commissioning of the first line for processing plastic film waste into plastic granules. Foundation of WALDU Handels GmbH.

1998

Construction and general renovation of the new premises and relocation of the entire production, warehouse and administration to the new location at Boschstrasse 40. Dissolution of the old location.

2002

The companies WKR GmbH and Walter are certified according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and EMAS.

2004

WALDU-Handelsgesellschaft mbH is merged with WKR-GmbH on December 31, 2004.

2005

A major fire on April 5th destroyed a large part of the production halls. The reconstruction will begin immediately and the new production hall will be put into operation in September 2005. Full operation of the new plant with a capacity of 15,000 tons per year. The second son-in-law, Ing. Bernhard Baumberger, joins the company. Acquisition of a TVE1718 of the largest extrusion line operated in Austria by EREMA. Construction of another hall for the 4 extrusion line. Capacity of ~ 25,000 tons / year.

2007

Further investment in the area of ​​water treatment and size reduction technology. A new process opens up new markets in the area of ​​injection molding. Planning a new location.

2008

Start of the realization phase of the Walter Plastic Technologies - WPT GmbH project. Sister company of Walter Kunststoff Recycling - WKR GmbH, with emphasis on mineral-based plastic compounds. In the middle of the year the plant was put into operation with a capacity of ~ 25,000 tons / year.

2009

Relocation and commissioning of the blown film line and full operation of the compounding facility.

2010

Merger of WKR GmbH and WPT GmbH to form Walter Kunststoffe GmbH.

2015

Development of the odor absorber WPT 2965

2016

Start of production of garbage bags; From Austria to Austria, regional 100% recycling solution. The garbage bags produced here have been certified with the “Blue Angel” eco-label since May. Resource conservation through the use of recycled plastic and the exclusion of particularly critical substances are two of the numerous criteria that had to be met.
